Bat Race 5K/10K

The 10th annual Batavia United Way Bat Race 5K/10K will be on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Bat Race is a chip-timed, Halloween-themed race hosted in conjunction with Batavia’s BatFest. It draws runners from all over the Chicagoland area to the beautiful Fox River Trail bike path and serves as a fundraiser for the Batavia United Way to provide support for Batavians in the areas of education, health, and financial stability.

This event is designed for runners of all ages and abilities. Participants can choose to run the 10K (starting at 8:15 am) or walk or run the 5K course (starting at 8:30 am). We even have a Kids’ Fun Run event at 9:30 a.m. for our youngsters.

The Halloween theme runs throughout the event! Costumes are encouraged but not required. Many participants who come in costume choose to participate in the costume contest to try to win a prize in various categories (Best Duo, Best Group, Best Adult Male, Best Adult Female, Best Child).

The event also has refreshments for purchase including cider donuts, breakfast burritos, and the famous Bloody Mary bar which is always a big hit! We hope you’ll join us in BATavia for this Batty great time!
