Fox Chamber Singers Present “Canticum Sacrum”

Fox Chamber Singers perform again at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church’s acoustically excellent and beautiful sanctuary. Program works together with the acoustic to explore music of the cathedral across many centuries. We contrast the motets of the renaissance with that of J.S. Bach and the modern day. Bach’s “Jesu meine Freude” sung from the balcony with organ contrasts with the a cappella music of one of Korea’s top composers, Hyo Won Woo, 20th century composer Samuel Adler, Leonard Bernstein, and Knut Nystedt and historic composers from Europe, William Byrd, Salmone Rossi, and Pavel Tchesnokov.
