Now in its third year, “Pets-a-Palooza” has grown into a widely popular and culturally important festival that celebrates the joy of companion animals. It also offers a range of humane educational programming to educate youth on the importance of compassion toward animals in the belief that these children will grow into compassionate adults.
The Dunham Fund grant of $20,000 provides for an array of educational sessions and demonstrations that reinforce Anderson’s focus on humane education and community outreach programs. More than 3,000 people – and nearly as many furry friends – attend this event each year at Mooseheart Child City & School. Through training demonstrations, guest speakers and special presentations, attendees learn first-hand of the many benefits to having a pet in their lives – and how to enhance that relationship to the fullest for both.
