For the past decade, Batavia School District 101 has embraced the opportunities technology can provide in a progressive learning environment. All of the school buildings have adequate infrastructure to allow for the development of a blended learning environment with each student K-12 being issued a personal device for their educational development.
The devices include tablets for K-1, Chromebooks for 2-5 and laptops for 6-12. The school district has funded the initial investment along with annual funding for equipment refresh every three years.
At Alice Gufstafson Elementary School, the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has provided 50% of the necessary funding to recreate the elementary school’s Learning Resource Center to provide for collaborative learning stations for students to work in groups of four to six. The Dunham Fund matched their fund raising efforts to complete the project.
