With a $4,500 grant to the Folsom Police Foundation, the Dunham Fund covered expenses for three weeks of Cop Camp, a summer day camp program offered to at-risk youth. Many of these youth live under difficult circumstances that can often lead to poor decisions and criminal activity. The Cop Camp program provides an alternative, allowing kids to connect with Youth Officers who help build positive relationships that create a level of trust between youth and police.
Activities include trips to local water parks, minor league baseball games, movies and bowling – activities many of these kids would not be able to enjoy otherwise. For many, it is their first experience – with the goal of setting them on positive track for life.
