Fox Valley United Way has served the residents of Aurora and surrounding communities for 95 years. During that time, fundraising activities were driven by relationships with local and national businesses. In the last decade, however, that trend has been in a downward spiral as the culture of giving has changed to the point where business partners are now competitors.
This change is primarily due to younger workers looking to fund and participate in specific causes, coupled with the employer’s desire to offer more giving options. These conditions have motivated United Way Worldwide to reexamine its business model.
This Dunham Fund grant will make it possible for Fox Valley United Way to begin the process of restructuring its organization for future success without having to take current funding away from its partner agencies.
