The objective of the Play.Learn.Connect Family Resource Center is to transform VNA waiting rooms into family friendly environments that improve parent-child experiences. Key elements of the Play.Learn.Connect Family Resource Centers will include:

  • Updated Physical Spaces: Transforming waiting rooms through books, toys, and furniture that inspire learning through play.
  • Parent Cafés: Hosting 30 minute sessions with SPARK staff that help teach parenting and caregiving principles through engaging curriculum.
  • Family Interviews and Developmental Screenings: Providing free meetings and screenings to help determine early childhood needs and program eligibility.
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Training: Continuing to develop and recruit SPARK volunteers to serve the needs of local parents and children.
