The Geneva History Museum (GHM), which serves as the county seat, caters to an audience of more than 500,000 Kane County residents, 24,000 residents of Geneva, Illinois, and the 10,000 researchers, authors, visitors and tourists from all over the world that engage annually with the museum.
In 2019, GMH received a prestigious Museums for America grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to initiate a Collections and Archives Redesign Project.
This challenge grant from the Dunham Fund will assist GHM with direct cost-sharing funds required to fulfill the federal grant. In addition to supporting a local institution, the Dunham Fund values the opportunity to leverage a larger government grant and expand the storage of more than 50,000 items and further preserving the history of Geneva and Kane County.
