Kaneland Foundation

The Kaneland Arts Initiative (KAI) is currently in its 19th season of bringing professional Fine Arts to local schools in the Fox Valley community. The Dunham Fund is providing a $28,000 grant to help The Kaneland Foundation/Arts Initiative collaborate with artists in the Chicagoland area to bring art projects and programs into local schools.

In 2018/2019, The Kaneland Arts Initiative will partner with Chicago author Lindsay Currie to dramatize her new book, A Peculiar Incident on Shady Street. Through this partnership, students serve as playwrights, directors, and actors – learning the craft of theatre through hands-on participation in the entire process of dramatizing a work of literature and bringing it to life on stage.

Wayside Cross Ministries

This grant was approved through the Dunham Foundation’s Ready for the Future RFP Grant and supports Wayside Cross Ministries’ Urban Youth Ministries (UYM) Program. The UYM program provides tutoring and mentoring support to Aurora-area students during the school year and summer programming. UYM will also engage other partners through this funding to broaden tutoring and programming offers for their students.
