Marklund has served the community for more than 65 years, operating eight homes for individuals with severe and profound disabilities throughout the Chicago Area. Marklund currently operates day schools in Bloomingdale and Elgin, serving children ages 3-21 who are diagnosed with medically complex developmental disabilities and need specific academic and life-skills supports.
In 2019, Marklund broke ground on it’s Marklund Day School on its Hyde Center Campus in Geneva. This 26,000 square foot, nine-classroom therapeutic day school will expand Marklund’s capacity to serve 66 more children with developmental disabilities each year.
This grant from the Dunham Fund will help Marklund to complete the new Marklund Day School in Geneva which will greatly expand Marklund’s capacity to serve children with developmental disabilities in our community.
