Northern Illinois Food Bank

Research shows that one in six children in Northern Illinois is food-insecure with a lack of access to nutritious food. The Northern Illinois Food Bank serves 13 counties in Illinois and partners with over 900 programs to provide more than 60 million meals each year.

This grant from the Dunham Fund will allow NIFB to continue its two summer food programs — Meals on the Move and the Weekend Backpack Program — aimed at ensuring kids have access to nutritious meals at various sites throughout Aurora while school is out for the summer.

Wayside Cross Ministries

This grant was approved through the Dunham Foundation’s Ready for the Future RFP Grant and supports Wayside Cross Ministries’ Urban Youth Ministries (UYM) Program. The UYM program provides tutoring and mentoring support to Aurora-area students during the school year and summer programming. UYM will also engage other partners through this funding to broaden tutoring and programming offers for their students.
