This grant will support West Roxbury Academy’s efforts to provide more differentiated instruction to tenth grade students who need additional educational support, including students who are English Language Learners and enrolled in Special Education programs. This Boston academy is a Title I public elementary school with a high percentage of children from low-income families.
Dunham Fund’s support will help West Roxbury Academy serve 140 students through a cutting-edge three-pronged instructional design that serves students through 1.) one-on-one education, 2.) after school programs, and 3.) customized classroom settings. This approach will provide resources and accelerated learning to students at risk of not graduating or in need of intensive assistance–leading to higher graduation rates and a life-changing education experiences for students in need.
