​Advance Illinois

The Dunham Fund is a sponsor for Advance Illinois’ 2nd Annual Illinois 60 by 25 Network Workshop to be convened January 14-16, 2015 in Aurora. The workshop plans to bring together 200 Illinois community, national, and international leaders and their business, education, policy, and philanthropic thought partners to align policy efforts and leverage community resources at state and local levels. This alignment of efforts will enable Advance Illinois and its network partners to achieve its goal to have 60% of adults obtain a college or career credential by 2025. The Dunham Fund grant will fund a half-day training with internationally renowned consultants, FSC and Tamarack, to build the capacity of the conference participants to develop collective impact models that are proven to create large-scale change.

Wayside Cross Ministries

This grant was approved through the Dunham Foundation’s Ready for the Future RFP Grant and supports Wayside Cross Ministries’ Urban Youth Ministries (UYM) Program. The UYM program provides tutoring and mentoring support to Aurora-area students during the school year and summer programming. UYM will also engage other partners through this funding to broaden tutoring and programming offers for their students.

During the exhibit’s time in Aurora, there will be various film screenings, community conversations, and educational sessions that explore the exhibit and documentary’s themes and their relevance to our community today.
